Beautifully layered aromas of ripe blackberry, dark cherry, and cassis meld with savory notes of white pepper, cardamom, and complex sandalwood and rosemary. Seamlessly dense cassis and dark berries lead to a rich, full palate that is round with juicy, fleshy dark fruit. The smooth tannins are integrated and deftly woven. The wine is bright and well balanced with a graciously powerful character that finishes with long, bold, and intense flavors.

Our vineyards, planted on the steep hillside, roll along the tops of the ridges.

About Our Vineyards

Our three ranches on Mount Veeder bask in the clear mountain sunshine high above Napa Valley. Estate ranches range in altitude from 1,000 to 1,600 feet in elevation to provide diverse microclimates for a wide variety of growing conditions and fruit profiles. All of the key Bordeaux grapes prosper, keeping with the tradition of being the first vineyard in California planted to all five Bordeaux varieties.

Lots of dark plums, morello cherries, chocolate-studded blackberry cake and some ash undertones. The palate is dark-fruited with dusty tannins, pretty acidity and a chew finish. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, malbec and petit verdot. Drink in 2020.
