The 2018 Mount Veeder Reserve Red Blend has a deep ruby concentration with elevated aromatics of ripe red berries, sage, black plum, toast, gingerbread, and dark chocolate. This wine has a rich and mouth-coating texture with flavors of juicy black cherry, ripe blueberry, dried herbs, graphite, and a hint of vanilla. The long finish is complimented by bright acidity and soft, yet lingering, fine-grained tannins.

Our vineyards, planted on the steep hillside, roll along the tops of the ridges.

With plenty of winter rain to recharge the soil and a cool spring with late-season showers, vines woke up slowly in 2018 but set a healthy crop, thanks to ideal conditions for flowering. Moderate summer temperatures and morning fog provided a slow, steady march to veraison. With no heat spikes and warm, sunny fall days, clusters enjoyed extended time on the vine – developing complex flavors, balanced acidity, and refined tannins. Harvest on Mount Veeder began on September 24, with Malbec from both Rosenquist and the North Ranch. The final grapes from Mount Veeder were picked from the Winery Ranch on October 27.
