2021 RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON

$150

With the release of our 2021 vintage, we have significantly reduced production to focus on improving wine quality and farming practices, allowing our winemaking team to handpick the best lots that showcase the finest vintage qualities. This vintage features robust, well-structured tannins and natural acidity, offering a balanced profile of freshness and longevity. In the glass, the palate is structured and rich with complex dark fruits like blackberry, cassis, and plum, complemented by herbal and floral notes that evoke the spirit of our mountain vineyards on Mount Veeder.

The Mount Veeder Winery Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is born from the summit of our estate, handpicked from the best blocks, only when each cluster is ready to be harvested. Our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon features a rich and mouth-coating texture with flavors of juicy black cherry, dried orange peel, bouquet garnish, graphite, red apple skin, and a hint of vanilla. The long finish is complemented by bright acidity and lingering fine-grained tannins.

So perfumed, elegant and complete, this is a beautifully balanced wine that’s tempting to drink now for its silky tannins, subtle spices and pure cassis and black cherry flavors. Full-bodied, finely textured, and concentrated. Drink or hold.

A nicely packed version, with dark currant and blackberry paste flavors that meld steadily with notes of ganache, warm earth and dark tobacco. This flashes a burly side, with chestnut and walnut husk hints on the grippy, old-school–styled finish. Best from 2026 through 2040.

Coming all from the Mount Veeder appellation, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is similarly deep ruby/plum-hued yet brings considerably more density and depth. Blackcurrants, woodsmoke, resinous herbs, sagebrush, and graphite all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with impressive concentration. As with most Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignons, it's structured and needs at least a few years of bottle age, but this is rock solid and should have 15 years or more of longevity.
